Love for Lynn is a benefit group focused on aiding a local Williamstown resident and her family after they received a shocking medical diagnosis. Lynn (Barr) Foglio was recently diagnosed with the debilitating disease A.L.S. (a.k.a., Lou Gehrig’s Disease).  A.L.S. is a progressive, fatal, neurodegenerative disease that attacks nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, resulting in muscle weakness and degeneration, and eventually paralysis. Lynn is a newlywed of less than a year, and the loving mother of two children. While she has led her life as a strong, independent, and hard- working woman, this recent diagnosis has forced her to leave her job, and for her family to change everything in their lives, to focus on preserving her health for as long as possible.

How you can help

While there is currently no cure for this disease, there is the opportunity for extensive therapies and treatments that can help extend and improve the quality of Lynn’s life. As you can imagine, these options are tremendously costly and many are not covered by insurance. On August 1st at the Columbus Manor in Williamstown, a Beef and Beer will be held to raise money to help allow Lynn and her family to benefit from the many options that are simply out of their reach.
